Academics: Libraries
The IU Bloomington Libraries bring the world’s ideas and data to all IU students via the
printed word and the digital world. You have access to more than 6 million bound volumes,
3,000-plus serial subscriptions and over 250 databases and other electronic information
resources. Librarians and other information staff provide individualized assistance both in
person and via the Internet.
The librarians in the Information Commons (IC) focus your information needs and research
interests. IC Undergraduate Services librarians and staff will help you find the information
you need for your courses and for your life outside of class. Consult them for all your
information needs: What bus goes to the College Mall? What database is best for psychology
research? What is deconstructionism? When is Spring Break? Answers are available in-person
(The IC is located in the Wells Library), by telephone (855-9857), e-mail (libugls@indiana.edu), IM (icrefdesk),
or via the web page.
You can access Library Electronic Information Resources from anywhere via the World Wide Web.
You can get started by searching IUCAT, the catalog of resources held in all IU libraries
statewide to find books and other materials on your research topics. You can also search many
other resources that provide the full text for the information you need.
